Did Anyone Win the $416M Jackpot?

The Powerball numbers in the December 27 draw were 36, 38, 45, 62, 64, 19. The Powerball was 19 and the Power Play was 2X.

The jackpot for Monday's drawing increased to an estimated $416 million with a cash option of $299.5 million.

There were no jackpot winners in the Christmas Day drawing and while no one person scooped the top prize, six tickets that matched five white balls were purchased.

According to lottery officials, the winning Match 5 tickets worth $1 million were sold in California, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The last time the Powerball jackpot was won, it was from a ticket purchased in California on October 4 with the winner netting a staggering $699.8 million grand prize.

The winner had the choice between receiving an estimated annuity of $699.8 million, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a large lump-sum payment of $496 million.

Since then, before Monday's draw, there have been 35 drawings in a row without a jackpot winner.

How to Play Powerball

Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with players selecting five numbers from 1 to 69, in addition to one red Powerball number from 1 to 26. In certain circumstances, players can also multiply non-jackpot prizes by using the Power Play option for an additional $1.

Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The winning Powerball numbers are drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.

The results are typically posted within five minutes of the draw.

According to Powerball, the overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump-sum payment.
