James Lance Bass, born May 4, 1979, is an American singer, dancer, actor, host, film and television producer, as well as an author. He’s best known as one of the members of the American pop boy band NSYNC. He starred in the 2001 film On the Line, which was produced by his company, Bacon & Eggs. He later founded a second production company, Lance Bass Productions. In July of 2006, Lance came out as gay. In October of that same year, he was awarded the Human Rights Campaign Visibility Award. In October of 2007, Lance released an autobiography, Out of Sync, which debuted on the New York Times Best Seller list. In 2008, he was a contestant on Season 7 of Dancing with the Stars with pro Lacey Schwimmer. Together, they reached the finale in competition with Brooke Burke and Derek Hough and Warren Sapp partnering with Kym Johnson. Lance finished in third place. In December of 2014, Lance married actor Michael Turchin. In March of 2020, Lance revealed that the couple had lost a baby via surrogate at eight weeks — the couple’s ninth surrogacy attempt.
